AI girlfriends have been mostly limited thus far to text conversations and selfies, with limited voice features (usually the option to hear the text message you’ve just read) and even more limited video options. Now that is beginning to change, and quite rapidly too. AI Allure announced last week that it has introduced live video chat with gesture recognition. That means you can engage in real-time video chat with your AI girlfriend and in a real sense she can “see” you and interact with you. She can (it is claimed) recognize waves, kisses, smiles, and even laughter and respond accordingly (such as waving back).
Live interactive video chat will take the AI girlfriend experience to a whole new level. And AI Allure isn’t alone in leading this revolution. In January I reported on a number of companies that were developing 3D desktop companions that could see their surroundings, including their owner, and understand their environment. This week the developer of VR/AR girlfriend app TykeAI introduced “situational awareness” to live chat. This means that the girlfriend you are talking to can understand what environment she is located in.
AI Allure also announced the addition of other features fo both existing and new members. These include the ability to “undress” an AI character by simply swiping on the part of the video screen showing her clothes. Thus in order to remove her skirt, just swipe your fingers across her skirt and it is gone.
A membership of AI allure comes in different packages and subscription lengths but access to the video chat feature can be had for as little as $29 a month with an annual membership.
